Consider this “basic” list:
Shop staff – technicians, front counter, back office staff, customer relationship staff
Shop customers and clients
Parts suppliers and their staff from telephone to delivery to field representatives
Shop lawyer and his/her law firm
Shop insurance broker/agent
Shop peers in industry associations and focus group meetings
Industry tech schools and their teachers
Business associations in general such as business networking groups
And the list can continue to grow, but consider this point… every relationship has an effect on the business or the owner/manager in some form or another. The message here is “Take no relationship for granted, work hard on your relationships (give and take in the real world – win/win) and appreciate the individuals you are dealing with if they take the same approach with you.”
The right relationships can build a very successful business.
