The average shop owner is still focusing on sales and car count. This can be an energy drain, as it does not create the most effective results and measurement for the shop.

Today’s successful shops have learned it’s not about “activity”—it is about “productivity”.

Consider setting the right objectives for billed hours in your shop. Establish three levels of billed hours to start.

  1. Total Maintenance billed hours objective for the day, week and month
  2. Total Diagnostic billed hours objective for the day, week and month
  3. Total Re-Flash billed hours objective for the day, week and month

Review these objectives with the Team and have a discussion about the importance of billed hours and the understanding that as billed hour productivity grows, without comebacks, so too, do their incomes.
