In business today, we really have to take the time to study how the business is going to move forward. If you travel the same old road the Aftermarket has followed for the past 30 years, it won’t show you the opportunity that the new path can bring to you.
Whether you want to accept it or not, the methods of running a service shop as was done in the past is a trap that will steal your creativeness. Now this is not meant to be double talk or anything along that line, but consider this statement, “If you want to keep your business moving forward, always be looking for the new path that will take you past where you have already traveled.”
Think about the future of the service shop in the Aftermarket. It will be a shop focused on knowledge and executing with a Professional manner. The shop of the future will be ever-evolving because technology demands it. The required knowledge demands it. To evolve one must be looking ahead, be creative, do your homework and make the right choices.
Going down the same path as before, over and over without looking where great opportunities lie, means you lose the energy and excitement that path originally brought to you.
How close is this future? Look only five years out and that’s why you will experience more change in this industry in the next three years than you did in the past five. Hold on, for what a ride it’s going to be.
