In the progression of your business, it’s necessary to realize when your own role is getting “stale” and requires a new perspective. That‘s why it’s so important to develop people within your own company who can continue to move the business forward because they believe in your passion and business culture. They understand your vision; they want to see things progress and they still want to play an important role in achieving its purpose.
Sometimes we can’t get out of our own way because, in essence, we’ve never clearly examined the role the owner now has to play in order for the business to continue progressing.
Review your own role, your own situation. Is it time to pass the torch and allow new perspectives into the role, giving them the authority to achieve and continue on what you have built and they want to see it continue?
Letting go is tough. You have to believe in and trust your people. Don’t worry, you’re still relevant and still the owner, but in time it’s necessary to let new energy in so your business can progress.
